First of all click on the group you wish to post a message to. Then to post
a message or binary attachment either press “p” on your keyboard while 40tude
has focus, or select “Post”->”New post to newsgroup” from the menu. You
will be presented with the following screen:

Enter a subject and the actual message
itself. If you wish to change your username or email before posting select the
“All headers” tab. To post one or more attachments select the “Attachments”
tab, and then click “Add attachments”.
Once you’ve finished composting the message
select the
button
to post the message or alternatively select “Action”->”Send now” from the
toolbar menu at the top.
If you’ve tried posting an attachment,
you’ll notice that you have the choice of three encoding methods, namely Mime
(Base64), UUencoding or yEnc. When adding multiple files (attachments) 40tude
will automatically select Mime (Base64) as the default encoding method.
Although you can change this by highlighting a file, then selecting “Encoding”
and choosing a setting from the drop down menu, only one file can be changed at
a time. This would obviously time very time consuming if you wished to post
say 40 attachments with yEnc encoding.
Therefore, if you wish to change the
default encoding method, go back to the main 40tude Dialog Window, and select
“Settings”-> “General Settings”->”Attachments”. Near the bottom you will
the settings below:

Select the required option and then click
ok to exit “General Settings”.
