Click “next” to go to the next screen
unless you wish to import any settings from another newsreader, in which case
you can click on the import button to import settings any settings you may have
configured in a different client.
The next section is the News server
Configuration Settings:

In the “Descriptive Name” field enter an
alias for you News Server (i.e. Usenet Monster), and then in the “Host” field to
enter the actual address of your news server (which should be a hostname such
as news.something.com or an IP address). If the Server you are using requires
a username and password enter these in the relevant fields. On this screen you
can also set the maximum number of new headers to retrieve when updating a
group both for the first time, and on groups that you’ve already downloaded
headers for. Click “next” when finished.
You will then be presented with the
Identity Settings:

These details will be used when posting to
Usenet. Be careful what email address you enter. Posting your email address
to a public newsgroup will expose your address to potential spammers. Click
“next” when finished.
The next two setup screens refer to your
email (pop3 and SMTP) settings. You can skip these screens unless you wish to
use 40tude Dialog for email as well as news.
The final setup screen of the wizard refers
to how articles are sorted on download:
If you are unsure what to use, check
Thread, maximum Score, Date and leave the Reverse check box unchecked.
Ok, you’re almost done now. The only thing
you may wish is change is the maximum allowed to connections to the server you
entered earlier (Usenet Monster for instance allows a maximum 10). To change
that, select “settings”->”Server, Identities, Signatures”.
You’ll be presented with the following
screen:

In the “Allwd. Conn” box enter the maximum number of allowed connections to the server.
