Before you can download anything, you will need to know what you can download! Therefore you wil need to tell grabit which groups you'd like to use and those groups need to be updated.

Adding groups

Remember the "get new groupslist" option during install. After installation grabit downloaded a list of all available groups from your server. Select a server on the left side of your screen (in my case "Default server") and go to the "All groups" screen (grabit should take you there automatically) you will see all groups which are available (and have at least 1 article)

Now you will have to choose which group(s) you would like to visit. Of course you could browse through the entire list, but you can also use the searchroutine to find a group. If you already know what group you want you can enter that name! Once you see a group you like, doubleclick it to add it to your personal groups-list (left side of your screen)

After adding a group you will have to do a full update on that group. To do that, rightclick the group and hit "Full update"

Now go to the batch-screen: you will see that grabit is doing a full update

After updating grabit will process the headers...

...and reload the group

If you switch to the articles-tab you will see a bunch of things which can be grabbed.

Now grabit will add all groups to batch and will start to get headers

On the left side of your screen you will see that the color of the groups will change from black to blue.

Blue - New items since the last time you viewed this group Black - No new items since the last time you viewed this group

Well, you've installed grabit, added some groups and updated them... so now it's time to download!

After updating your groups you will see that you can download a lot of things! to start downloading, select one or more item(s), rightclick it and select "Grab selected articles"

If you switch to the batch-screen you will see that grabit is downloading the files!

If two files are done at the same time, grabit will place them in a queue.

When the files are processed, you can find them in your download directory!
